Fresh Air Waste Management Services Pvt. Ltd. or Fresh Air is the pioneer in disposal of Bio Medical Waste and liquid waste management in the whole NE region. The organization registered under companies act 1956 was established with an objective of working for pollution control of both air and water and has been in operation since the year 2003.
The organization, has practically implemented the idea of Common Bio-medical Waste Treatment Facility (CBWTF) for the first time in the whole North Eastern Region. Fresh Air started this program in September 2004 with only one hospital. It is quite a success of the organization that within this short period the total number of health care units properly disposing their Bio Medical Wastes through Fresh Air has gone up to 100 (Hundred). Hospitals, which even had incinerators of their own, have also joined in the said project of Fresh Air.
The Common Bio Medical Waste Treatment Facility (CBWTF) at Panikhaiti, Guwahati is one of the 78 facilities in the country registered under Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi. Fresh Air is the only authorized body under State Pollution Control Board Assam to run a CBWTF.
This unit also does disposal of Discarded Medicines which includes expiry and damaged medicines and cytotoxic drugs.
Fresh Air has been also providing solutions for liquid waste management for different organisation for last eight years. Fresh Air has supplied and installed wide range of ETPs and STPs to various industries and hospitals in Assam, Sikkim, other NE states and Orissa. Some of the special features of these plants are Treatment of high BOD and COD effluents, Removal colour of effluents from dyeing and textile industries, Treatment of effluents from food processing industries, Treatment of infectious hospital effluents, User friendly operations etc. These ETPs and STPs can be widely used for residential building and flats.
Mr. Partha Pratim Pathak, Director of the company, a pass out from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati in the year 1995-96 from the department of Civil Engineering started the Organisation with a sincere objective establish a proper system for treatment and disposal of Bio Medical Waste in the year 2003. Mr Pathak has been involved in various activities of Solid and Liquid Waste management in several organizations for different environmental engineering solutions. Under his leadership the organization has spread its activities in other states like Meghalaya, Sikkim and Orissa apart from Assam. The company was awarded with ‘2010 entrepreneurial excellence award’ by North Eastern Development Finance Corporation of India and Indian Leadership award for Industrial Development by All India Achievers Foundation in the year 2014.
